   First-time-ever APAO Young Ophthalmologists Travel Grant
 
 

To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of APAO, we are launching our first-ever Young Ophthalmologists Travel Grant to support young ophthalmologists in the Asia-Pacific region attending the Diamond-jubilee 35th APAO Congress. Each successful applicant will receive US$1000 if they live outside the host country of the Congress (i.e. China), whereas those who live in the host country will receive US$300. 

Priority will be given to Residents and Trainees from a developing country and whose presentations (free paper, poster or video) have been accepted by the Scientific Program Committee of the Congress. Identification letter from the training or program director for the Resident or Fellow must be produced should the applicant is selected for the grants. 

Interested delegates please complete the online application via the Congress System from September 2 to October 31, 2019. Selection results will be announced by January 2020.

 
   APAO 60th Anniversary Prof. Yasuo Tano Travel Grant Deadline
 
 

To celebrate its Diamond Jubilee, the APAO has doubled up the offer to twenty Prof. Yasuo Tano Travel Grants for ophthalmologists in the Asia-Pacific region this year! 

Applications will soon be closed on September 15, 2019. Young ophthalmologists who would like to attend the 35th APAO Congress are encouraged to grab the chance and apply online before the deadline. For details, please visit here.

 
   Scientific Program Subspecialty Conveners
 

While the formation of the Scientific Program Committee for the 35th APAO Congress is in full swing, let’s take a peek at the list of Subspecialty Conveners!

   Introducing Our Partner Society
 
This year, the APAO is pleased to join hand with the Chinese Ophthalmological Society (COS) to organize the 35th APAO Annual Congress and celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of APAO. Big thanks to COS for their support. 

Currently having more than 22,000 members with 11 subspecialties, COS is dedicated to promoting the progress of the science of ophthalmology in China and actively works with the Sight Project of Millions of Cataract Patients and the VISION 2020 global initiative to support prevention of blindness.
